CONTRACT PAYMENT: A chance to finish killing Giwaza Lowaw - not so much out of loyalty to Posaydal, but out of revenge for the awful treatment she recieved on coming back.

QUESTIONNAIRE:

How important is loyalty to you? What does it take to earn your loyalty? What extents are you willing to go through to maintain loyalty, and respect the loyalty others might have invested in you?

Nei would say that loyalty is very important - it's something that's likely been drilled into her head from a young age, having grown up in Posaydal's dictatorship and gained high rank in the military. Earning Nei's loyalty seems to be tied to having a willingness to listen to her - when she made her return to Giwaza toward the end of the series, she intended to speak with him, rather than outright kill him as Posaydal had ordered, but his paranoia and refusal to listen led her to give up on him. Maintaining loyalty depends on how much she cares for the person, and if she sees them as a person or as a resource. People get actual consideration, displays of emotion and vulnurability. Resources get threats that get acted upon if they get too uppity.

An enemy of your faction has asked for a meeting, proposing a truce of sorts to deal with a greater threat. On one hand, there is indeed a threat at hand, but on the other, this person double-crossing you is just as likely an outcome. Do you agree to the meeting? Do you trust them?

"Agree to the meeting, yes. There is no sense in ignoring a stronger foe that would require our alliance - if I let them be to get taken out, it's likely I'll be next. Trust them, not so much. I would fully expect them to try and strike once we are victorious, if the circumstances allow it - it's good tactics. There is the chance of a sense of honor or camraderie being fostered in the process, but I'm not going to bet on it."

How do you react to betrayal? How severe must a betrayal be for you to consider it such?

A complete emotional shutout and refusal to discuss the issue at all is the minimum - that has put Nei into a depressive state. Once the other party brings violence into the picture, all bets are off, and she will repay it with interest.

What is your favorite diversion? Hobbies, indulgences, vices? Would you put off important things for that diversion, or would you be more strict about how you spend your time and/or money?

It's not seen often, but Nei does have a fixation on her makeup routine, as well as a possible secret sweet tooth given a reaction to an unexpected call. She does try to keep things strict in regards to these things, but on at least one occasion, she did force a subordinate to recover her personal makeup kits before getting re-deployed to another location. Image-related indulgences and vices are clearly very important.

POWERS & ABILITIES: Nei is simply human - albeit at what one would consider peak performance from her military service. She has combat training, and shown proficiency with beam sabers, whips, and pistols, as well as piloting Heavy Metals (the series' giant robots). While she is considered one of the better pilots of the series, it's all skill and practice on her part.

SUITABILITY: Nei comes from a world that's been in a state of perpetual war for decades, and part of a corrupt military serving a dictator that's committed at least one attempted genocide. She's taken part in torturing prisoners for information, in one incident accidentally killing one by going too hard on him, and only being frustrated that she lost an opportunity for more information. She ought to be fine.

FACTION SUITABILITY:

For Shuten, it would less be a case of Nei's current state and more about her potential. After a betrayal ending in her death, it wouldn't be too challenging for her to be influenced into the idea of hating liars the way they do, and 'Might Makes Right' does fit in with the way Pentagonan rule traditionally works - if you overthrow the emperor, you take their place.

Tamamo, however would appeal due to the desire of freedom. Nei's current station is stifling in a number of ways, and her lowest point in the series is when she's essentially held prisoner by Posaydal. On top of all that, one of her earliest appearances does associate her with a kitsune, in an admittedly surreal animorphs-y manner.

As for Sutoku, they would rub Nei entirely the wrong way, reminding her entirely too much of people that were playing both the military and rebels in the war - but also being similar to the rebels with their member makeup. Just the worst possible combo of things.

Regarding Enma, Nei's military history and desire to crush the rebel army would make her a distressingly good fit in regards to the Enma's desire for order above all. However, with how things were going right before her death, Nei could also fit in well with those that are displeased with the way the Enma is handling things as of late.
